Reporting Relationship :
Report to the Sales Director, CAC, China .
Responsibilities :
A key element of the role will be to participate in planning and strategizing on entry and development of the commercial and CAC market in China . As such, the individual must be familiar with the entire industry in China , and know the players and their strengths / weaknesses.
The Regional Sales Manager will need to participate in the setting of market entry and development strategies, followed by strategy implementation.
Once the business is established, the candidate will be responsible for managing all day-to-day sales and marketing activities in the Eastern China region.
Monitoring monthly sales targets & increasing the number of air conditioning units sold;
Regularly consolidation of figures, reporting, budgeting & achieving of targets;
Recruiting, training and developing a strong local team;
Developing & strengthening wholesaler & distributor relationships, as well as monitoring all sales agreements;
Establishing sales & distribution systems and processes, and then monitoring & further fine-tuning the systems;
Keeping a close eye on accounts receivable;
The candidate will need to make regular field trips to help boost sales, introduce new promotional ideas, monitor local situations and motivate the team.
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will be an ethnic Chinese with solid experience in sales and marketing activities in the commercial and/or central air-conditioning field in China .
The incumbent should have at 5 plus years' experience in central air-conditioning sales and marketing, of which there is a minimum requirement of 3-5 years at a management level in China , preferably with a multinational firm.
The Regional Sales Manager will need to have a proved track record of successfully managing sales, market, promotions / advertising, wholesale / distributor / key account management, customer service, after sales service, sales team training and development, establishing developing new markets, managing sales organization, etc..
Product and technical knowledge will also need to be strong, specifically related to air cooling/heating heat pump chillers, package units, ducted split units and screw chillers.
As the individual will initially need to participate in the development of an overall strategy, he must have the capability to see the bigger picture and be capable of planning longer-term strategy. He will need to set challenging goals and yet be experienced enough to know what is achievable.
The Regional Sales Manager will have the capability to run the operational side of the business as well as oversee all commercial operations. This will require a good mix of back office systems and structural set up, as well as solid experience in a sales and marketing capacity. As such the individual will have exposure to sales, marketing, distribution, logistics, supply chain, HR, finance, IT, customer service, etc..
The incumbent must have good commercial and negotiating experience, and have a proven track record of successfully running a region in China .
The Regional Sales Manager will also be experienced in setting and achieving budgets and targets, and will have previously had P&L responsibilities for at least a region in China .
The incumbent will have a mature approach to work, and high levels of loyalty and integrity.
The Regional Sales Manager must have good interpersonal, leadership, team building, motivational and presentation skills, and be a results oriented and innovative individual. Additionally, he will possess a maturity, personality, character and stature suitable for this senior management position. He must understand the importance of their contribution to the overall development of the entire organization.
It is also essential that the Regional Sales Manager have a very high level of integrity. The incumbent must be a respected individual who will promise only what he can deliver and have a commitment to quality and customer service.
We envisage that the Regional Sales Manager will have a minimum of a university education. The candidate will have a reasonable level of English fluency, and be fluent in Mandarin.
