Reporting Relationship : VP of Finance, Asia , and functionally will answer to the Chief Information Officer who heads the global ITS Organization.
Responsibilities :
The position will lead the Information Management Organization deployed in the Asia Pacific Region with the mission to provide technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT initiatives that create and maintain leadership for Asia Pacific region in a constantly changing and intensively competitive marketplace.
Takes lead in the formulation of the region's business system architecture plans, assessing cost and feasibility of system requests and ensuring the plan supports both strategic and near term needs of the business.
Collaborates to develop strategic vision for the Asia Pacific Region.
Contributes actively to the development of regional business strategies, provides advice and guidance to business management highlighting how IT can be used to improve productivity, drive operational effectiveness, meet customer needs and maintain competitiveness.
Takes lead in implementing IT solutions for the region, directing development, infrastructure development and operations.
Appropriately influences internal or external clients when determining priorities; builds a network; establishes IT credibility as a business partner.
Collaborates with customers, vendors, industry consultants, The Global IT groups and senior management to define service levels for the IT organization in the region, and mobilizes required resources to ensure defined service levels are delivered.
Contributes as an active member of the senior IT leadership team ensuring global standards are relevant, IT resources are optimized between the Region and any central groups and IT skills are leveraged globally.
Leads and manages the IT resources in the region including definition and assessment of critical goals, recruiting, skill assessment, career development and performance management.
Responsible to define the IT organization requirements for the region, and to recruit and develop the organization.
Leads by example, demonstrates Personal Accountability, and acts as mentor and shares technical and non-technical knowledge.
Accountable to implement our client's organization technology and architecture standards in the Region.
Directs the operations of any IT shared services in the Region.
Oversees the definition and implementation of information security and business continuity plans for the Region.
Has capital budgeting accountabilities.
Responsible for managing the design, development, release and maintenance of business application systems for all business activity in Asia .
Assists business management in Asia in setting up new business ventures in the countries of the region by providing required IT services.
Responsible to establish timely and accurate automated business information reporting in the region using our client's data warehouse technologies.
Solid business orientation and experience managing IT or related activities a plus (i.e. consulting or vendor in the industry).
Strong technical competence in the areas of information technology planning and management as well as product and service development. Facility for assessing alternative technical approaches to solve business problems while also managing costs and risk.
Demonstrated ability to operate in a consultative manner as a customer-oriented business partner.
Skilled at identifying and evaluating new technological developments and gauging their appropriateness for the business.
Sound business judgment coupled with a clear understanding for the information needed to support decisions in the information and technology arena.
Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal clients. Ability to gain the trust and confidence of the senior business managers with different objectives, interests and cultures.
Strong organizational skills and manage central IS resource and applications as well as coordinate SBU/divisional resources and initiatives.
Ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget.
Ability to mesh well with existing management team by being a good listener, a team builder and an articulate advocate of their IT vision.

Given the geographical spread of the overseas branches, the individual should be prepared to travel, visiting branch managers and interfacing with ITS staff in each location, as well as be able to manage a multi-location, multi-country organization.
Additionally, the ideal candidate must have excellent spoken and written English, as well as Mandarin Chinese.
