Reporting Relationship : Managing Director of Greater China
Responsibilities:
Professionally manage the sales teams and all elements of the sales operation in China and Hong Kong .
To be an agent of change to prepare and adapt the sales structures to the post-WTO era.
Act as a key person to interface with Brands/Principals/Shareholders on all sales matters.
Budgeting
Each year, lead the budgeting process with the Brands/Principals/ Shareholders, and set the key objectives and means for the corresponding fiscal year in terms of volume, net selling to the trade, overheads, etc.
Market Development
He/She will work closely with the marketing and sales teams to identify market changes and ensure successful and profitable entry into undeveloped markets or segments.
He/She will also work closely with Brands/Principals/Shareholders to develop and implement strategies and programs on new product development and introduction.
Along with the Managing Director, the National Sales Director should be prepared to represent Brands/Principals/Shareholders internally & externally.
Leadership
To manage, develop and train the sales teams.
He/She is to ensure harmonious working relationships between the teams and co-ordinate efficient execution of sales amongst different geographic regions, districts and markets.
He/She will champion and implement ˇ®Best Practices' in the management of the sales force and become a driving force behind projects such as Sales Force Automation, Sales Planning and Reporting, Performance Reviews, Key Account Management, etc.
Internal Relations and Communication
The National Sales Director will communicate regularly with the Brands/ Principals/Shareholders to keep them posted on market developments, opportunities, competitive activities, etc.
Coordinate closely with office staff in Hong Kong and China to provide optimal logistic support in the supply and distribution of products.
As part of the Management Team, he/she will work especially closely with his/her counterpart in Marketing, Finance and HR to ensure good communication.
Qualifications :
A minimum of 8+ years' successful track record with an international company selling and distributing branded consumer goods.
A minimum of 3+ years sales experience in the China market.
A university degree from a reputable institution. A post-graduate degree such as an MBA is highly preferred.
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) is mandatory, as well as solid presentation skills.
The capacity to apply professional/technical skills and expertise to support the achievement of business objectives and the ongoing commercial success of the organization.
Implementation and operating experience in a structured, systematic, process driven and professional sales environment.
The capacity to think conceptually and develop strategies, plans and initiatives to promote the long-term commercial success of the company.
An entrepreneurial spirit and innovative whilst remaining well organized and professional.
A team leader who is open-minded and easy to communicate with.
The ability to manage/develop relationships and perceptions amongst both internal and external customers.
Psychologically, a ˇ®winner', yet stable, capable of utilizing his/her knowledge and character. Proficient in developing, motivating and building the strengths of individuals in order to promote a positive workplace culture and enhancing the commercial success of the company.
Unquestionable integrity, and the ability to push back when necessary.
