Director, Brand Marketing <<back

Reporting Relationship : Group Brand Director

Responsibilities:

•  Identifying Chinese consumer needs and opportunities for profitable volume growth;

•  Initiating & qualifying brand strategies and business plan to realize these opportunities;

•  Getting management, bottlers and customers' alignment and resource support in deploying brand marketing plans;

•  Monitoring the brand plan deployment against targets and continuously improve business plan effectiveness in driving growth.

•  Developing annual and long-term (3-5year) brand business plans, setting up annual / long-term brand business objectives, key strategies to deliver the objectives, and brand performance measurements (volume, growth rate, share, key brand imagery indicators, etc.)

•  Identifying Chinese consumer needs and emerging consumer trends which will have major impact on the brand business short-term and long-term

•  Developing brand marketing programs to support the delivery of brand annual business objectives; securing Division management and bottlers alignment and budget to execute plans

•  Assessing business situations and market situations to identify and prioritize brand-building opportunities based on the market and consumer information (e.g., ACNielsen, CCT, Media Monitor, quantitative & qualitative consumer researches, etc.)

•  Developing and carrying-on brand briefs to advertising, media and promotion agencies/functions and directing the development of brand business and equity-building materials (e.g. advertising, promotion, media planning, packaging, merchandising, etc.), qualifying materials and cascade them into region/bottlers for market execution

•  Constant interaction with region teams and bottlers in supervising the brand plan deployment, responding to region teams and bottlers' comments and issues by providing enhanced solutions to address the individual market needs

•  Developing annual brand marketing production budgets, securing Division management concurrence on brand budgets, and supervising the allocation and usage of the spending in line with budgets

•  Managing internal partnership, including Region Managers, Region Marketing Managers, Bottler HQ Group GMs; Division Marketing Director, Division Operation Director, Global Brand Director / Brand Managers

•  Recruiting, coaching, directing the local team in order to effectively develop and deploy brand business plans, as well as conducting all performance reviews.



Qualifications :

•  The ideal candidate will be a PRC National with a minimum of 7-8+ years of consumer marketing / brand managerial experiences with an international FMCG company, with exposure to both the marketing or sales functions. It is essential the incumbent have exposure to consumer marketing.

•  Other than a strong orientation towards sales and marketing, with a focus on the latter, it is essential the incumbent have good financial acumen ¨C the ability to read and work the numbers, and understand the impact of brand investment are essential. Prior experience managing substantial budgets, and the ability to make full use of the resources available is required.

•  Strong communications and interpersonal skills are required to deal with stakeholders across the organization as well as the bottlers. The Brand Director must take full ownership and leadership of their brands, and aggressively drive their brands.

•  The individual will be an alytical, action oriented, authoritative, able to manage a very full workload, culturally diverse, and have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. S/He must be able to influence people, quickly build credibility and gain the respect of all those they work with. Strength of character is definitely needed, as well as the courage to stand their ground as appropriate. Excellent English language skills are also required.

•  The ability to coordinate cross function projects with R&D, Operation, Technical & Production department, as well as bottler HQ teams

•  Ability to develop vision ¨C how to grow the business and build brands

•  Strategic consumer marketing experience including understanding of local consumer insights, building brand architecture as well as briefing, leading, and managing advertising agencies with demonstrated creativity

•  Rapid confrontation of the obstacles without delay

•  The minimum of a university degree from a reputable institution

•  Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese / Mandarin.
