Reporting Relationship : General Manager
Responsibilities:
The person will be responsible for the overall oversight the strategic direction of media buying and planning activities; ensuring synergies and collective bargaining are maximized.
A key part of the role will be to set the strategic orientation of the company China 's media buying and planning activities.
The individual must be able to advise on how to invest in the brands and come up with creative and new alternative channels (TV, radio, movies, etc.). One of the key tasks will be to ensure the company China is maximizing returns on investments.
The ideal candidate will be a PRC National in her/his early 30s, with a relevant university education.
S/He will have at least 6+ years experience in a media buying, planning and a management role. The individual may come from either an agency or a corporate role.
It is essential the individual be an expert in media, especially TV. The incumbent should know how agencies work, be able to judge if the China operation is getting a good deal, and be able to manage a range of complex buying transactions. S/He should be creative, aggressive and entrepreneurial, and have good negotiation skills.
The Media Director must have the personality and maturity to be able to interface with and advise Division GMs, as well as challenge them as necessary.
S/He will have good interpersonal and communication skills; excellent English and Mandarin capabilities; be a proactive, approachable and supportive individual; with a high degree of integrity and maturity; good supervisory skills; and a customer service mindset. There is also a need for an assertive, strategic person.
The candidate will be a highly professional while easy going individual.
S/He should fit in with the company culture, and must have strong personal capabilities with respect to analyzing and solving problems.
High initiative, creativity, entrepreneurialism and capability to push back are essential.
