Reporting Relationship : Executive committee
Responsibilities:
The Vice President will be responsible for the operations of overseas manufacturing facilities. He/she will help design and fine-tune operation systems and provide a consultative role towards such companies.
The VP will also possess with the following attributes:
Stature and presence to gain respect from business partners and subordinates.
Openness to change; constantly evaluating new scenarios and ideas; good interpersonal, team building, and motivation skills.
Results orientated.
Willingness to take on challenges and be an instigator of change management.
Cross-cultural sensitivity; high tolerance to fluidity and ambiguity; ability to understand business conditions and government/regulatory issues in US and China ; an in-depth understanding of, and experience doing business both in US and China .
Fluent English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
Qualifications :
The Vice President must have at least 10 y ears experience in the industrial field, of which 5 years' will have been in a senior operation role within a multinational manufacturer in China . He/She shall have working experience home and abroad.
It is essential the Vice President have a strong comm unication/Interpersonal skill. It is also important that the individual has a good culture understanding of both western and Chinese cultures. A strong grasp of manufacturing related operations is also desired.
The Vice President is also expected to have a strong technical feel (mechanica l / electronics engineering), although he/she need not necessarily be overly qualified in a specific technical field . At the same time, it is highly desired that the Vice President must have good financial understanding of the overall operation.
It is equally important that the Vice President have a personality suited to the business and current style of operation. He/She should be a very down to earth manager, and street smart with an approachable yet firm and decisive personality.
The finalist shall posses strong people management skill, he/she must feel comfortable with an entrepreneurial management style, and interacting and working with people at all levels. It is also essential that the candidate have a commitment to the concept of continuous improvement.
